Vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (TALISMAN, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) has parted ways with the drummer from his solo band, Alex Papa.
"Alex has decided to pursue other avenues in his career," Jeff said in a statement. "I and the rest of the band support his decisions and wish him nothing but every success in his future endeavors.
"I felt it important to make this news known to all whom he befriended over the last two years of our involvement so that there is no unexpected disappointment when he is not with us for my upcoming events.
"I'm working with two separate drummers for my next solo album, 'Lost In The Translation', and for live dates, including my upcoming mini-tour of the U.K.
"Glen Sobel (IMPELLITTERI, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES) will be handling the 'skins' duties for the album and a native of Buffalo, NY native, Dave Dzialak (a close friend from Howie's [Simon, guitar] hometown), will join us for the up coming live dates. Both are extremely talented and will help us bring a whole new dynamic to the recordings and live shows.
"I am very excited with the additions of these guys on my next efforts and we are very much looking forward to presenting you with the new goods!!"
As previously reported, Soto recently formed a brand-new, as-yet-unnamed project with Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo (both of JOURNEY) and Marco Mendoza (WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER, THIN LIZZY). The group cut six demo songs in San Francisco at Jonathan Cain's studios and are continuing to write material for their debut album, tentatively due later in the year.
